Our 2nd Space City show in Rosenberg. We were excited for this one as it marked the site of our first show as vendors. I had decent expectations because of how well we did selling last August, and this time we had a much better location near the entrance on an end cap.
With The West Coast Card Show upcoming, we made it a priority to target Ohtani heavily. As luck would have it, a seller walked up with FIVE rare Ohtani rookies. Four of the five were numbered, two of them just to 5, but non-licensed, so that is always risky. Plus, none of the four had sold since he bought them and his ask was based on Card Ladder value — another risk.
I passed on the two that were /5. Just too risky for about $15k total. The other three I did get, and at a decent percentage. Hopefully that mitigates any non-license risk. The Cyber Week PSA 10 was the big get, being both rare and a PSA 10, along with the other two numbered cards.
Traffic was slower on Sunday, but we moved a Mahomes Super Bowl Downtown and a Maye rookie Downtown. Because the traffic was a little slower, we worked a deal with another vendor for 4 Ohtani rookies.
Update: I moved the Mahomes too fast — by year end it will have doubled in value. The unlicensed cards also didn't take as long to move as I thought, and were sold at The National.
