Our first GRB show, which brings back many show memories from when I was younger. Grayson's first show was also at the GRB. This was also our first 3 day show, which worked out well as Grayson was still off of school.
The Katy show provided us with enough Downtowns and Uptowns that our show preview post produced significant interest from out-of-state buyers. Many were sold pre-show. This was the first time that had happened.
Friday ended on a great note as we traded a Mantle and cash for two Mahomes BGS 9.5 Downtowns and a Josh Allen BGS 9 Downtown.
My Dad came to the show early Saturday and walked the floor with Grayson — three generations of us in the same building.
Sunday was unusual in that two guys were arrested at our booth. We were in the middle of comping cards when Houston Police arrested them. They had supposedly robbed a Pokémon shop, and some of their cards were on a list of missing cards. We later passed on what I felt was a fake 1/1 Ohtani superfractor. Turns out we were wrong and it was real.
Update — regret from this show: 2018 Bowman Chrome Ohtanis were available for less than $3k. A missed opportunity that we seriously considered.
