1961 Topps #300 and 1965 Topps #350 Mickey Mantle, both PSA 7 — picked up at H-Town.

We got back from 8 days in Nassau and did not vend at either show. While the real reason was that United does not have direct returning flights during the week, not having to pick between two show promoters we sponsor played a role.

The day got off to a bad start as I got into a minor accident on the way to H-Town. Unfortunately, anything with my car is not easy and it's more of a pain than anything.

We got VIP passes for H-Town and the show was a little slower than I would have anticipated, but it was also early and on Sunday. I was able to grab a couple of nice PSA 7 Mantles (1961 and 1965 — pictured). We then headed to Katy and it was packed. The card quality was better at H-Town, and feedback was Katy was busy but selling didn't necessarily match the crowds, which could have also been driven via TCG.

Feedback from dealers at both shows for both days was fairly uniform: sales were ok, each had its busy moments, but having two major competing shows in the same area at the same time hurt all vendors.

2027 is going to be interesting, as I feel pretty strongly that there are only so many sports shows in Houston that will be successful. As it is, there are about 6-7 other show organizers begging for sports vendors. The reality is that until you are proven and can say half your show or more is sports, I am not even entertaining it. Additionally, some of the locations these shows are happening simply don't make sense.
